The Boatyard Vava’u is pleased to announce the arrival of a major new equipment upgrade: a Roodberg HBC40 hydraulic trailer, significantly increasing our operational capacity and service capability.
With a maximum lifting capacity of 40 tonnes, this new hydraulic trailer allows us to safely and efficiently handle a wider range of vessels, including larger cruising yachts and heavier displacement boats. This investment marks an important step forward in supporting the growing demand for reliable haul-out and maintenance facilities in Vava’u.
The addition of the Roodberg HBC40 improves both capacity and flexibility within the yard. It enables smoother haul-outs and relaunches, better weight distribution for increased safety, and more efficient vessel movement once ashore. As a result, we can accommodate more boats overall while also reducing congestion and turnaround times during peak periods.
In practical terms, this upgrade allows us to:
- Haul and move vessels up to 40 tonnes
- Support a broader range of yacht sizes and configurations
- Improve safety and precision during haul-out operations
- Increase hardstand efficiency and overall yard capacity
For yacht owners and crew, this means greater availability, improved scheduling flexibility, and the confidence that their vessel is being handled with modern, purpose-built equipment designed specifically for marine operations.
This investment reflects our long-term commitment to the Pacific yachting community and our belief in Tonga’s role as a key service and cruising destination. As Vava’u continues to grow in popularity, we’re focused on ensuring our infrastructure keeps pace — responsibly, safely, and to international standards.
We look forward to welcoming more yachts to the yard and continuing to invest in facilities that make cruising the South Pacific easier, safer, and more enjoyable.
If you’re planning a haul-out or would like to discuss your vessel’s requirements, our team would be happy to help.
